Denverites are invited to a Presidents' Day Party at Free Market, hosted by Denver Mayoral Candidate Leslie Herod and James Beard-nominated chefs Michael de Leon, Chef de Cuisine of BRUTØ, and Chef Kelly Whitaker, CEO of Id Est Hospitality Group. Attendees will enjoy food and drink from some of Denver’s favorite restaurants, along with discussion about supporting small business, agriculture and farmers in Colorado.
Herod is a long-time supporter of Colorado’s restaurant industry, and was recently recognized with the Colorado Restaurant Association’s Iron Skill Award for her work to secure funding that helped restaurants stay in business during the Covid pandemic.
“I am proud to have helped thousands of Colorado restaurants and bars keep their doors open through the pandemic, and to have directed millions in much needed funding to help them cover expenses, expand their business, and pay their workers more while reducing costs for consumers,” said Herod. “I look forward to this event at Free Market to discuss continued support of the industry and to learn from experts in Denver’s food industry.”
